Learning to shoot Pigeons?
If you’ve ever wondered about taking up pigeon shooting – then there is some interesting news in the ShootClay inbox. The British Association for Shooting and Conservation are launching some instructional pigeon shooting days. These are one day courses held at a variety of UK locations, designed to increase skills and enjoyment, and to help educate people on the legal side of Pigeon Shooting, which is an invaluable method of crop protection and a good source of shooting enjoyment and food.
The course will cover;
- Pigeon shooting and the law.
- Gun safety.
- Woodpigeon shooting (decoying, flighting and roost shooting).
- Dangers in the field.
- Guns and cartridges.
- Pattern testing and range judging.
- Decoy patterns.
- Carcass preparation
The days run from 9.30 till 4.30 and cost £45 for BASC members, or £65 for non-members – including lunch.
