In between all of the major championships this year, there are still some amazing events to get involved in – including one near Northampton that has really caught our interest. Preparations for the Annual Clay Pigeon Shoot are coming along well. 2012 will be the third year Holdenby House has hosted this Spring event. Set in the beautiful grounds of the Estate the event draws teams from all over our region, whether they be keen clay shots, or competitive men and ladies looking to keep their eye in between Sporting Seasons.
T
he Clay Shoot is fortunate enough this year to have five overall sponsors; Land Rover, Westley Richards, NFU Mutual, Cirrus Trading and Fisher German, plus Stand Sponsorship from other local companies.
This year the event will be held on Sunday 1st April, with shooting starting at 10am. The day sees teams of 4 competitors shoot four 10 bird sporting stands, a Team 100 bird Flush. Several trophies are on offer for the teams; Flush, under 21 Team, and Men and Ladies High Guns, and of course the cup for the overall winning team! Last year we attracted over 30 teams and interest is high for this year.
During the day we will be holding an auction where proceeds will be donated to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. The service provided by them is second to none, and has played a part in the lives of many people in our region.
