Another glorious morning, lets see if we get through today without a rain shower or minor monsoon. Time to start looking forward to this weekend – we have two major shooting events on the calendar, but first an update on the ShootClay Cup.
Bookings have been open for 48 hours now for The ShootClay Cup – an exciting new event on the Clay Shooting calendar in the UK. Entries are rolling in and there are plenty of full squads getting booked in. The prize fund continues to grow, and we’ll be announcing our full list of sponsors very shortly. For more details, please head over the dedicated website where you can also book in online and confirm your squad places.
The Jack Pyke English Sporting Open takes place at Sporting Targets in Bedfordshire, set over 120 targets this is traditionally a top event – I’m shooting it on Friday, but the event opens tomorrow so I’ll keep an eye on scores and bring you updates as they happen. Alongside the Jack Pyke, the ground is also running its High Tower challenge which is great fun and a good opportunity to shoot some massive targets off the big towers at Sporting Targets.
Then at the weekend is the FITASC GB British Grand Prix, the premier event on the FITASC GB Calendar. This takes place at West Midlands Shooting Ground (Hodnet) over Saturday and Sunday. The event is now fully booked with the cream of the UK’s FITASC talent. Squad details and start times for everyone are available on the fitasc.co.uk website.
Some results I didn’t have time for yesterday – massive congratulations to Paul Chaplow, who is the English Open DTL Champion 2014. Paul shot a perfect 100/300 to take the title. Paul’s scored 100/299, 100/299 and 100/300 over the weekend. Great shooting! Congratulations also to Emma Wheeldon, English Open Lady Champion, and Andrea Swatts, Lady Runner-Up. Full results are available on the CPSA site.
