Right, back in the land of the living – just in time for end of the week, a couple of days to round up whats happening in the world of clay shooting before we all go off to shoot again!
The inaugural Royal Berkshire Shooting School Challenge Trophy finished yesterday, congratulations to Brett Hand who shot 92ex100 to take the trophy, three shots clear of Chris Childerhouse, Adrian Johnson and Wayne Martin who all tied for second place on 89ex100. Ladies category was won by Cheryl Hall, with Martin Reynolds taking the veterans on 86ex100. With 210 shooters through the event, it seems like this was a great success, and feedback has been positive all round, I personally hope they put this on again.
Two great shooting events today – EJ Churchill are hosting the European Side by Side Championship, coupled with their regular monthly registered shoot. 100 targets for £40 with a £35 reentry option. Entries open from 10am till 4pm, with prizegiving at 5pm. Over at Barbury Shooting School, the Barbury Challenge kicks off today – 100 targets, with a HG prize of a Browning 525 and cash/cartridge prizes down the categories. The Barbury Challenge runs through till Sunday and is £38 for non-members to enter.
Next – my weekly update on the ShootClay Cup – taking place on August 22nd and 23rd at EJ Churchill Shooting Ground. Well over £25,000 worth of prizes, including a door prize raffle of a Blaser Luxus Shotgun. Entries are £50 for 120 targets, and a chance to win some excellent prizes. You can enter online at the dedicated website.
Finally, our weekly stream of Clayshooting.tv – with Commonwealth Games interviews and much more from Phil Coley:
