Very exciting to see details emerging of the major events for 2012 – including one that ShootClay really enjoyed last year.
The Beretta World Sporting Championship will be held from Friday July 6th through to Sunday July 8th at Meon Springs Fly Fishery in Hampshire. Last year there were 930 entrants (including your author) who tested themselves against 120 targets over 15 stands set up by Bob Clarke and Peter Corney. Beretta World was my first competition last year and only my third or fourth registered shoot – but there was some really hittable stuff out there, along with some very testing targets – it was a great course that even as a relative novice I really enjoyed shooting.
Once again, the prize fund is huge, with over £25,000 worth of prizes including Beretta Shotguns, Breitling Watches, Eley Cartridges and much more.
The event will be squadded like last year – but if you book online (or staple entry forms together) you’ll be able to organise yourself into squads with friends. You can read our review of the event here and you’ll see that we absolutely loved the layout and format of the day which allowed us to shoot in the sunshine with a fun squad.
Shootclay will be back this year for more and we look forward to seeing some of our new friends there.
