One of ShootClays favourite grounds – Wylye Valley – is to close at the end of the month, after 20 years of operation.  Run by Ian Stones, the ground has a great reputation of fun, testing and good value shoots and will be sadly missed by shooters all over the South West.

From the grounds website:

“We will close for good at the end of September after our shoot on the 29th. Charles Cassels, our landlord – and his wife, have closed us down as they say they want the farm to themselves and Mrs. Cassels wants somewhere to walk her dogs. This is bad news for shooters in the South. There are few alternatives within easy travelling distance and it will make life very difficult. We will be pleased to see you before we close. We still open on Thursdays and Saturdays until the end of the month so enjoy it while you can!”

Definitely a sad day for shooters in the area.
