Highclere Castle in Newbury, Berkshire was the setting for the 16th Annual Country and Game Fair last Bank Holiday weekend. It is the second fair out of five spread across the country organised by Countryman Fairs who do a fantastic job!
It was brilliant day out for the whole family that had displays, events and attractions to keep even the most eclectic of tastes occupied. From falconry to whittling, gundog shows to jousting there is plenty to see and do. Kids of all ages were catered for with Punch and Judy shows or even a bungee trampoline!
For those of you with a more competitive disposition there were plenty of championships taking place with even the winner of the Mitsubishi Motors World Series Clay Shooting Championship driving home in a brand new L200 Barbarian! Competitions taking place:
- Mitsubishi Motors World Series Clay Shooting Championship
- Mitsubishi Motors World Series Gundog Championship
- Skinners International Retriever World Cup
- World Hunter Field Target Championship
- European Field Target Championship
- ATEO Junior Airgun Championship
- Countrymans Weekly Champion of Champions
- Netmaking Championship
- Mitsubishi Motors Junior Handler Championship
Amenities are well thought out and as always the food court was bustling! As with most of the country fairs it was also quite the dog social event of the year with all dogs allowed in on the lead.
